Sunshower Collective, LLC ("Sunshower Collective," "we," "us," or "our") is a coaching and consulting practice founded by Dr. Kat Thigpen, DACM, L.Ac. We are organized under the laws of Illinois, USA, with our founder currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website (sunshowercollective.com), book a discovery call, submit a contact form, or become a client.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact information you provide directly: name, email address, and any details submitted through our website contact form.

  • Scheduling information: when you book a discovery call or session through Calendly, Calendly collects your name, email, and scheduling preferences on our behalf.

  • Client intake and session information: if you become a client, we collect information you share during intake forms and sessions, relevant to the coaching or consulting engagement.

  • Payment information: once payment processing is active, payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full payment card information ourselves.

  • Website usage data: our website is hosted on Squarespace, which may collect standard analytics data (such as pages visited, browser type, and general location) via cookies. See Section 5.

  • Call recordings: if you consent, sessions may be recorded and transcribed using Fathom for note-taking purposes. Recording only occurs with your explicit advance consent.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and schedule discovery calls or sessions

  • Deliver coaching and consulting services you've engaged us for

  • Process payments for services rendered

  • Send essential communications related to your engagement (scheduling, session notes, resources)

  • Improve our website and services

  • Comply with legal and tax obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your separate consent.

4. Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies governing data they process on our behalf:

  • Squarespace — website hosting, forms, and analytics

  • Calendly — appointment scheduling

  • Google Workspace / Google Drive — internal file storage and client records

  • Fathom — call recording and transcription (session calls only, with consent)

  • Stripe — payment processing (including international transactions where applicable)

5. Cookies

Our website may use cookies through Squarespace's platform for basic functionality and analytics purposes. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. As we expand our services internationally, we will implement an EU-compliant cookie consent mechanism prior to actively marketing our services to visitors located in the European Union.

6. Data Retention

We retain client records for seven (7) years following the conclusion of an engagement, for tax, business, and legal recordkeeping purposes, after which such records are securely deleted or anonymized, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To make a request, please reach out via our website contact form.

If you are located in the European Union, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and objection. We are in the process of implementing the mechanisms needed to fully support these rights as we expand our services internationally. If you are an EU resident with a request, please contact us via our website contact form and we will do our best to accommodate it while these processes are finalized.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
